THE FAMILY OF DOROTHY MARIA STARK AND THOMAS CRAIG COOPER

of New York and Avalon, Pennsylvania

Dorothy Maria Stark, was the youngest daughter of Charles Stark and Wilhelmine Catherine Schwarz. She was born December 15, 1888 in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, died January 26, 1964 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and married Thomas Craig Cooper,who was born October 15, 1886 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and died June 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Cooper family was in Pittsburgh for a visit when Tom died. Dorothy is buried beside her mother in Uniondale Cemetery located on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Thomas Cooper is buried with his parents in Mt. Royal Cemetery in Shaler Township, Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The children of Dorothy and Thomas Cooper were:

  1. Dorothy Wilma Cooper born September 5, 1914 in Bellevue, Pennsylvania and died December 14, 2004, McCandless Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Married Samuel Milton Richards on October 31, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Sam and Dottie were married on Halloween and Cousin Lorraine and Cousin Martha were in the wedding party. Dottie’s sister, Lois Nichols, was not able to be in the wedding as she had just delivered her third child two weeks earlier. Dottie and Sam are both buried in Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park, Pennsylvania.

  2. Lois Margaret Cooper born March 4, 1919 in Bellevue, Pennsylvania died October 23, 1987 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, married Allen Garfield Nichols. Lois and Allen had three children: Allen Garfield Nichols, Jr., born May 25, 1939; Gordon Craig Nichols, born July 27, 1940; and and Sandra Nichols, born October 16, 1946.
