There are few records for William Morlan Orr, son of Joseph and Jane Orr. He was born on April 28, 1813, probably in Lisbon, Ohio where his father was employed as a tailor. On October 15, 1825, in Elkrun Township he married Nancy Cannon, daughter of Linsdsey Cannon and Elizabeth Fife. The couple farmed a piece of land in Elkrun Township and began to raise a family of five children. William died on February 11, 1849 in Elkrun Township, at the age of 36. He is buried in the Carlisle Cemetery, Elkrun Township, Columbiana County, Ohio.
Nancy Cannon Orr remarried about 1850. There is, however, no record in Columbiana County regarding a second marriage. On the 1850 Ohio census she is enumerated as Nancy Orr and there is a farmhand living on her farm by the name of Elijah McCormick. On the 1860 census she is named Nancy McCormac and there is a daughter name Arabella McCormac who was born in 1851. By 1870 Nancy’s children, except for Arabella, were all married. Mother and daughter were living in Lisbon and Nancy was working as a "tailoress". Nancy’s final census enumeration was in 1900 when she was living in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania with her daughter Lucinda Orr Frederick and family. I have never found out Nancy’s date of death or where she is buried.
The Children of William Morlan Orr and Nancy Cannon:

Family research is not done alone. There are two fellow Columbiana County Orr researchers that I would like to thank for their information and support--B. Diane Hunter and Vickie Tallent.
